Construction is moving along at The Southard. Most recently, we had an exciting site visit of The Southard with Representative Adam Smith (D-WA 9th District) where we got to give a tour of the site and share more about how the development has been progressing. Rep. Smith was able to walk through two of our homes, constructed in partnership with Parkview Services, for adults with developmental disabilities.

Additionally, on the morning of July 19, we had the amazing opportunity to step out in the field, put on our hard hats, and give a tour of The Southard to a group from the National League of Cities. On this tour, led by Eric Pravitz, Director of Real Estate Development at Homestead, we were able to not only answer questions about the project but also go into more detail about Homestead’s plans moving forward to create permanently affordable homeownership in King County. The National League of Cities (NLC) is a non-profit advocacy organization made up of town, village, and city leaders dedicated to improving the quality of life for their present and future constituents. The NLC’s mission is to “relentlessly advocate for, and protect the interests of, cities, towns and villages by influencing federal policy, strengthening local leadership and driving innovative solutions.”
